Dave is currently Senior Vice-President and CEO of AFS. His doctorate dissertation on automatic modeling of time series was the basis for the technological advances in time series analysis. One of the founding principals of AFS, his innovational leadership and statistical expertise is at the core of the success of AFS. He has over 40 years of experience in statistical consulting and expert system product development. Under his leadership and vision, AFS has lead the way in championing expert time series analysis this making these tools available to all. He has held teaching positions at Penn State University and the Drexel University Graduate School. Dave is well-founded both theoretically and in the practice of Management Science. Before co-founding AFS he held Senior management positions at General Electric, Celanese Corporation and The American Stock Exchange. Dave holds a B.A. in Statistics from CCNY, an M.S. in Statistics from Villanova University and an A.B.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dave is currently CTO of AFS. He has been with AFS since 1980 and has held leadership positions in software development and interface design. Prior to joining AFS, Dave held management positions at Merrill Lynch and ComputerLand. He brings over 25 years of creative program design and development to AFS.
Tom is the V.P. of Sales. He has been published in the IBF Journal of Forecasting and spoken at the International Forecasting Conference (IIF) in 2001. He has an in depth of understanding of how to tailor Autobox to work best for your problem to bridge clients needs with how Autobox can help them achieve their goals.
Prof. Celal Aksu
Dr. Celal Aksu holds a BA in Operations Management and an MA in Finance both from Bogaziçi University, and an MBA in Accounting/Management Information Systems and a Ph.D. in Accounting, both from Syracuse University. Previously, he taught at Syracuse University, Temple University, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Koc University, Bogazici University, and INSEAD. Currently, he is the Dean at Ozyegin University.
His areas of expertise include design/implementation of cost management systems for manufacturing and service industries, budgetary planning and control, financial analysis and firm valuation, measuring firm performance, time series analysis and forecasting of earnings, cash flows, financial ratios, and other financial variables in the presence of outliers and structural changes, forecast accuracy measures, and combining forecasts. His research has appeared in various journals including European Journal of Finance, Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, International Journal of Forecasting, Economic and Financial Modelling, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Economic and Financial Computing. Two of his recent studies have been awarded "citation of excellence" for their research impact by the Editorial Advisory Board of ANBAR Management Intelligence.
Dr. Aksu has made numerous invited presentations at workshops of several universities and at national and international conferences, and organized and chaired several research tracks and sessions at these conferences. He has served/continues to serve on the editorial boards of International Journal of Forecasting, Foresight-Journal of Applied Forecasting, Review of Social Economic and Administrative Studies, and Eurasian Review of Economics and Finance. He has served as a referee for various academic journals and conducted activity-based-costing (ABC)/activity-based-management (ABM), and forecasting seminars in international conferences, and financial and retail institutions.
Dr. Aksu has served as the Program Chair of the 1996 International Symposium on Forecasting, and as a Director of the Board of the International Institute of Forecasters(IIF), and continues to serve in the Turkish Accounting and Auditing Standards Board (TMUDESK).
Dr. Aksu has also extensive experience in consulting. He worked as a financial/management consultant for various national/international corporations, as the Assistant Vice President of the International Banking Division of Garanti Bank; and participated in the management training program of Bankers Trust Company of New York.
Dr. Aksu has been a Doctoral Consortium Fellow of the American Accounting Association, and a visiting scholar at the Harvard Business School. He is a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA), International Institute of Forecasters (IIF), and Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma.
